I would like to thank all the Valley members who attended our annual meeting this past Jan 17, 2018 at the\u00a0\u00a0VFW in Donna. The meeting covered many subjects that will be address. I encourage all Valley members to assist in keeping our club safe and clean. It is our responsibility to make sure that all rules are followed so everyone can enjoy the range without incidents or accidents.<\/p>\n<p>Valley Gun Club<\/p>\n<p>contact President\u00a0Mark Roberts\u00a0at<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"mailto:valleygunclubtexas@gmail.com\">valleygunclubtexas@gmail.com<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Last year\u2019s members (2016, 2017) can renew their membership for 50 dollars.\u00a0 Anyone before that year and who have not renewed their membership are now new members. The fee for new member is 150 dollars, and new members have to be sponsored by a current member.\u00a0 New members have to make a club meeting to receive their membership.<\/p>\n<p><strong><strong>A general club meeting is scheduled for\u00a0May 7, 2017\u00a0at the range in Donna at 1:00 pm<\/strong><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Thank You Fellow Valley Gun Club members<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>President Mark Roberts<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><strong>VGC Range Rules<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0\u00a0 <strong>SAFETY FIRST at all times!<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><strong>NEVER point a gun at anything you don\u2019t want to destroy.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><strong>ALWAYS treat any gun as loaded.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><strong>NEVER put your finger into the trigger guard until you are ready to shoot.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">ALWAYS look thru your target to where your bullet is going to go.\u00a0<\/span> <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>1)\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Safe gun handling and compliance with all ranges rules, local, state, and federal law, is a condition of range use.<\/p>\n<p>2)\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Members are held responsible for their actions and the actions of their guest or guests.<\/p>\n<p>3)\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The range is open to members and accompanied guests only. You may ask to see any club member\u2019s membership card. They may ask to see yours. Upon request, all members must present their club membership for examination. Members may not loan their key or membership card to others.<\/p>\n<p>4)\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0Members may have up to three guests with them. Members are responsible for their guests. Guests must stay in close proximity of the Member.<\/p>\n<p>5)\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The entrance to the range must stay locked at all times except during \u201copen to the public\u201d matches, club work days, or onsite club meetings.<\/p>\n<p>6)\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 THE RANGE is closed when workers are in the fields next to range property and or behind the dirt berm to the south. Beware of traffic in these areas at all times!<\/p>\n<p>7)\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Be sure the \u201c<span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><strong>THE LINE IS CLEAR<\/strong><\/span>\u201d before going downrange.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">A request to go down range MUST be requested and granted\/confirmed by ALL shooters before ANYONE goes down range.<\/span><\/strong><\/li>\n<li>\u00a0<span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">A<strong>ll firearms must be in a case, on the rack w\/action open or on the bench w\/action open while anyone is downrange.<\/strong><\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <strong>NO FIREARM SHALL or WILL BE HANDLED WHEN ANYONE IS DOWNRANGE.<\/strong><\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>8)\u00a0 \u00a0 <span style=\"color: #ff9900;\">FULLY AUTOMATIC WEAPON FIRE IS PROHIBITED ON THE RANGE!!<\/span><\/p>\n<p>9)No 50 BMG or equivalent<\/p>\n<p><strong>10)\u00a0 \u00a0\u00a0<span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">No hunting allowed on our property.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>11) \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0The 100\/200 yard firing lines are available to all members and guests. Longer distances are only available to NRA High-power Rifle shooters with Sharpshooter, Expert, Master or High-master \u201cmid-range classification card\u201d. Members can attend Club Matches to obtain NRA classification cards. Qualified members wanting to shoot further than 200 yards from the berm can only do so if no other members are on the pistol and rifle ranges.  Apart from during matches, the 600 yard range users will defer to other range users, and anyone using the 600 yard line will remove their rifle from the line when anyone enters the gate.   No rifle shall remain or be on the 600 yard line while anyone else is present at the range or enters the range, excepting those shooting solely at 600 yards.  Revised 12\/2020.   <\/p>\n<p>12) \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Any \u00a0pistol that shoots below 1500 Feet per Second will be fired in the 25\/50 Small-bore\/Pistol Range only.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 That means no regular pistol on the 100\/200 range.<\/p>\n<p>13) \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0The entire property \u00a0is under control of the Match Director during Matches. The Small-bore\/Pistol Range MAY be open during rifle and silhouette matches. The Match Director will decide.<\/p>\n<p>14) \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Position your target in front of the backstop so that all rounds will go through your target and into the backstop.<\/p>\n<p>15) \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Place your target in such a way that no bullet can ricochet.<\/p>\n<p>16) \u00a0\u00a0Target frames are provided and placed to direct all shots to the center of the impact berm. Plans are available &amp; reimbursement will be provide for materials w\/ receipt.<\/p>\n<p>17) \u00a0\u00a0Do not drive over the levee at the pistol range.<\/p>\n<p>18) \u00a0\u00a0DO NOT shoot bottles, plastic jugs, clay pigeon, cans, rock, wood, or target frame pieces anywhere on the range.<\/p>\n<p>19) \u00a0\u00a0DO NOT PLACE ANYTHING ON THE GROUND AND SHOOT AT IT!!<\/p>\n<p>20) \u00a0\u00a0Each member is expected to help make our range a safe and enjoyable place to shoot by setting a good example, and reminding others of safe shooting practices.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Take home everything you bring to the range.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>\u00a0We do not have garbage collection services so please do your part and take all trash\u00a0 home.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>21) \u00a0\u00a0NO profanity please.\u00a0 Ladies and children may be present.<\/p>\n<p>22)\u00a0 \u00a0No unattended children allowed on the property.<\/p>\n<p>23)\u00a0 \u00a0No alcoholic or mind altering substance \u00a0consumption allowed on the premises.<\/p>\n<p>24) \u00a0\u00a0No firing or handling of any firearm while under the influence of alcohol or mind altering substances allowed on the premises.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>THIS IS YOUR CLUB, ENJOY THE FACILITIES PROVIDED AND HELP PRESERVE THEM FOR ALL MEMBERS TO ENJOY.<\/strong> <strong>ALL RANGE RULES WILL BE ENFORCED BY CLUB MEMBERS, OR CLUB OFFICERS.<\/strong> <strong>ANY VIOLATION OF SAFETY RULES WILL RESULT IN LOSS OF MEMBERSHIP!!!<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>IF YOU FIND SOMEONE BREAKING ANY OF THESE RULES, REPORT THEM TO THE CLUB LEADERSHIP. IF YOU DO NOT REPORT THEM, PROPER ACTION CANNOT BE TAKEN.
