Okay everyone

okay January’s meeting has two tentative dates once we’re in January and there is good weather we’re going to go for the first date in case of bad weather or other situations then it will be the second date. The two tentative dates are January 10th and January 17th, we’re looking to be conducting the renewal meeting or drive-thru at 1 Central Time.

Those members that have their Club ID with its picture on the ID, those members will be the only ones that are allowed to come at that renewal meeting. Anyone else will be turned away regardless if your ID was done, if you don’t have your Club ID in your hands you cannot renew..

Your renewal date will be either February or March, either month renewal date will also be the second or third Sunday of the month which is the 14th or the 21st, at 1 central time. No more meetings for the year, if you had your ID done, and you did not pick it up this last meeting then it will be Feb or March when you can pick it up. At this time there are two dates to do your renewal and it may be the only ones, make plans for those dates.

The keys are going to cut at the end of Oct, and check in Nov. the renewal list has been done. The plan is at Jan’s meeting everyone will line up on the road that goes to the range and stop at the gate and do the renewal process. Once done then turn right and go down the road between the two fields and exit on the other caliche road. All members will be handed a copy of the rules while in line, you need to read and sign the signature line with your club ID number.

Hello everyone

I spoke to the president and he said that hopefully in January we’re going to have a drive-thru renewal due to COVID 19. The issue is that the club is unable to have any kind of meetings of 10 or more members at one time. So speaking to him he stated that it would be great to have a renewal drive-thru, where the members are going to line up on the road going to the range. There volunteers will go down the row and verify the members information of DL number, phone number, email address, receive a copy of the rules and an update of what has happened that year and the upcoming year additions to the range. Once you get to the gate, we’re going to take your club photo ID which should have a sticker on it, which will mean you have been verified, also to include the yearly membership fees. Then we are going to issue your new key. The member will sign for the new key and also acknowledge that members have read the rules. The date has not been set, the club must make sure that it will be a good day, no rain. The renewal will be open for about 2 hours. This will be only for those members that have their club photo ID.

ALL OTHER MEMBERS THAT DO NOT HAVE THEIR CLUB PHOTO ID AND SHOW UP WILL BE TURNED AWAY.

For those members who do not have their club photo ID then the renewal date will be in February or March no date has been set. The reason is that you will need to have a club photo ID for 2021. That means the photo booth will have to be set up and you will have to get down and get your photo taken, that will take time. So to get everyone ready for January, I will be at the range after the F-Class match for Sep, Oct, and November for one hour. Look for the dates on the clubs website, under upcoming events the date may change due to weather.

Ok on the range the hand gun range still has water and is semi muddy. Please be careful in walking in the mud you may slip and fall. I went to the range on Sunday and found handgun brass at the rifle range. If you get caught shooting a handgun at the rifle range you will lose your membership. Most all other areas are dry. You may see the grass cutter out cutting the grass then the area he is in will be closed.

list of the members which have their ID done. can pick up at the dates set for F-Class matches.

Ok Hidalgo County has just placed an order to stay home for the COVID 19 until April 10, so the range will be closed until then. So there was to be two renewal dates April 5th and the 12th at this moment it is canceled. The F-Class match is on the 19th so if the all clear is given by then I will do renewals on that weekend of April 18 and 19 at 12 noon. Be careful and be safe.

VGC Officers

Valley Gun Club,

We are back from our 4-H State Match. We took 3 boys to the 4-H State match where they won 8 medals in total using both pistols and rifles. They shot silhouettes, civilian marksmanship (CMP), 3-position, pistol, and light rifle. We want to thank Valley Gun Club for the range access and the members for also allowing us the time to work with kids to bring home the medals and put the valley on the map. Attached are some pictures from our State 4-H Match.

Thank you again and please call if you have a 3rd grader or older that is interested in shooting sports. We will start up again very soon once the range is available. Our first 4-H meeting is coming August 20th at 7pm at Rising Stars Academy on Paso Real in San Benito as well as many upper valley clubs are getting started and we can help point you in the right direction.

Please call if any help is needed.

Eric and Melanie Perez
